It’s been a long time coming, but I’m here now. So I would like to share with you my latest trip in Seoul, South Korea! Everyone is hype about Korea because of K-dramas, K-pop and as well as the food. And I’ve been wishing to go to Seoul ever since I stan 2ne1 during their debut days, so yeah thanks to Dara. It was a nice yet tiring experience since I created our itinerary and it involves a lot of walking. The weather was alright, we are lucky that we didn’t experience too much heat, and it rains frequently. So don’t forget to bring an umbrella especially during the month of July. I would recommend to travel during Spring which is from March to May or early of June if it’s your summer vacation.
Our hotel is located in Myeongdong, which is one of the biggest shopping district of Seoul. So if you want to spend some shopping time before you go back to your hotel after your tour, better choose a place near Myeongdong.
Any Goblin fans out there? Remember the school of Ji Eun Tak? One of the reasons that I’d like to go to South Korea is because I want to visit a few shooting sites of Goblin, unfortunately I was only able to go to 3 locations.
The next day we went to the Bukchon Hanok Village, it consist a lot of walking but it is worth it because everything is picturesque.
After strolling around Bukchon Hanok Village, we went to Gyeongbokgung Palace. Be sure to allot some time because it is the largest palace around Seoul, and take some majestic photos while walking around.
The Cheonggyecheon Stream is a 10.9 km-long modern public recreation space in Seoul. We only cover I think 1/8 of it, but if you have some free time try to stroll the whole area and see some amazing artwork, flowers and birds along the way.
The tour wouldn’t be complete without visiting the house of Big Bang, 2ne1, Winner, iKon, AKMU and Blackpink!
Lotte World consist of a hotel, shopping mall, museum, sports facilities, outdoor theme park and the largest indoor theme park in the world.
I would definitely comeback here with some friends since my parents don’t like rides. Also, try to visit Everland, which is the largest theme park in South Korea. Both Everland and Lotte World are accessible on either train or bus. Purchase T-money card at the airport to save some money and time.
The newest attraction in Seoul, Starfield library is an open library that is free of charge and consist of approximately 50,000 books and magazines. If you are tired of walking or shopping, just grab a book and read as you rest. This wonderful library is located in Starfield COEX Mall Gangnam.
The city itself breathes art, most area is worth every shot. So be sure to bring extra battery and memory card for your camera.
Don’t forget to try some street food at night in Myeongdong, it is cheap and very delicious.
Seoul is a large city, even on a 10 day trip can’t cover all the major tourist attraction. So I would definitely go back, maybe during winter time to experience the snow in a city. Be sure to purchase T-money card cause it helps a lot in transportation and you can also use it on different convenience store. Don’t be afraid to ask in English, they can understand you even if they answer in Korean. But talking the language is a plus whenever you travel, so better learn a few hangul.
